Your nervous system is the internal messaging system God gave you to respond to stress, rest, and everything in between. It helps determine whether your body is in:

  • 🧠 Fight or flight – hypervigilant, anxious, tense

  • 😶‍🌫️ Freeze – checked out, numb, exhausted

  • 🌱 Rest and digest – calm, peaceful, connected

    If your system has been stuck in stress for too long, your body might forget how to come back to peace—even if your mind knows you’re safe.

Healing begins when your body finally believes: “I’m no longer in danger.”

  • Nourish your body—no more skipping meals or running on coffee alone.

“Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love.” – Psalm 90:14

2. Befriend stillness

  • Take 5 minutes in silence. No phone. No music. Just breathe.

  • Place your hand on your belly and say: “God, I am safe. You are here.”

The body responds to gentleness. Start there.

3. Create a peaceful home atmosphere

  • Turn off harsh lighting. Use lamps and candles.

  • Play soft music or ambient worship in the background

  • Declutter just one corner to help your eyes rest

Your environment speaks to your nervous system before you say a word.

4. Prioritize rhythms that regulate

  • Eat warm, balanced meals with protein, fat, and salt

  • Go outside and let your bare feet touch the ground

  • Rock, sway, walk slowly—rhythmic movement calms the system

Don’t underestimate the power of walking around your home while holding a warm mug.

5. Anchor your spirit in truth

  • Read Psalm 91 aloud

  • Speak Scripture-based affirmations over yourself

  • Journal with God—not just about what you need, but how you’re feeling in your body

When your heart feels like a storm, His Word becomes your anchor.

I needed to read this today. I have a serious health issue that has cropped up. I just ordered Lea's journals and I am looking forward to them. Her videos have a sense of calm for me.
