Preparing for What’s Ahead: Faith, Healing, and Hope in Uncertain Times

It doesn’t take much to feel the weight of the world right now. The headlines shift every hour, nation is against nation, the love of many has grown cold, inflation seems to grow overnight, and conversations at the grocery store often turn into a quiet exchange of distaste for the state of the world. Maybe you’ve felt it too — that tug in your chest asking, How do I prepare? What should I be doing right now? Is there even a way to prepare in such an uncertain time?

Whenever I have allowed worry to begin to drown out what I know to be true in my heart, God has always drawn me back to the same reminder: preparation isn’t about panic. It’s about stewardship. It’s about strengthening our faith, healing what’s broken, and holding onto the kind of hope the world can’t take away. Preparation doesn't even always look the way we would expect.

Faith First — Our True Anchor

When storms come, the anchor keeps the ship from drifting. That’s what faith does for us. Without it, preparation turns into fear-driven stockpiling or frantic striving. With it, every step forward feels steady, because we know Who holds tomorrow. One of my practices is getting ahead of the temptation to grumble or worry. Before I even step out of the car at the grocery store, I say ... Thank you God that you are such a good and faithful Provider and Father. I believe that Your Word is truth that says that You will satisfy me with good so that my youth is renewed like the eagles. I believe that you delight in giving good and perfect things you Your children and I know that no matter what happens around me, that You will continue to increase my resources, so that I have all I need in abundance.

Jesus told us plainly, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Notice He didn’t promise ease. He promised Himself.

Faith-led preparation looks less like doom scrolling and pacing, and more like drawing near to Him daily. It might be a morning prayer walk, a psalm spoken out loud when the house is quiet, or a simple “Lord, I trust You” whispered while folding laundry. These aren’t small things. They’re weapons. They’re roots. They’re how we prepare in the only way that actually holds.

Healing From the Inside Out

Uncertainty wears on the body too. Stress shows up in our digestion, our sleep, our energy. Fear depletes the immune system and clouds our judgment. If the future feels heavy, one of the best ways we can prepare is by choosing healing rhythms right now.

That doesn’t mean chasing every wellness trend. It’s simpler than that. Real food. Clean water. Rest. Time away from constant input. God’s design hasn’t changed — the same foods that nourished our great-grandparents still nourish us today. A walk under the open sky still calms the nervous system more than any pill.

Preparation is not just filling a pantry, it’s filling our cells with the kind of nourishment that strengthens us to endure. It’s teaching our families to honor the body as God’s temple, not waiting until it breaks down.

Practical Readiness Without Panic

Yes, there is wisdom in practical preparation. Scripture reminds us, “The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down” (Proverbs 21:20). Having a little extra on hand — some canned goods, water, basic supplies — is part of being a faithful steward.

But notice what that verse doesn’t say. It doesn’t say the wise store up out of fear. It says they store up out of wisdom. The difference is everything.

When preparation becomes frantic, it drains peace. But when it flows from faith, it becomes a quiet act of obedience. Maybe that looks like learning an old skill again, like baking bread or growing a garden. Maybe it’s simply making your home a place of order and peace rather than clutter and chaos. These things matter. They may seem small, but they shape an atmosphere that heals instead of harms.

Hope That Cannot Be Shaken

The truth is, no amount of stored food or money in the bank can guarantee tomorrow. That’s not meant to discourage us — it’s meant to set us free.

Joseph prepared Egypt for famine, but his trust was still in God. Noah built the ark, but his salvation was God’s covenant. Our hope isn’t in what we can hold; it’s in Who holds us.

When I feel uncertainty pressing in, I remind myself: eternity is secure. My hope is unshakable because it isn’t built on circumstances. It’s built on Christ. And that changes how I prepare today.

A Faithful Legacy in Uncertain Times

Maybe you’ve been feeling anxious about what’s ahead. Maybe the news cycles or the weight of your own life circumstances have left you wondering if you’re strong enough to face what’s coming. Here’s the truth: in your own strength, maybe not. But with Christ in you, absolutely yes.

Preparation isn’t just about storing up things. It’s about becoming the kind of person who is rooted, healed, and full of hope no matter what tomorrow holds. That’s what leaves a faithful legacy.

So take the next step. Pray. Nourish your body. Clear the clutter in your mind and home. Tuck away a little extra with wisdom, not fear. And above all, lift your eyes to the One who already knows the future.

Because when faith is our anchor, healing is our rhythm, and hope is our lens, we are always ready — even in uncertain times.

Love, Lea

Healing from the inside out...THAT. Oh my friend, if we could all only return to THAT. That concept is what fueled my step of faith to buy your Brand Builder course last year, to start developing Wild Squatch Wellness, and what gave me the courage to develop and launch my signature program (I've made $1500 in the last 2 days!), "Feed Your Fat" - so similar to your Healing Era work but based in my own journey, learning to create the conditions within to allow the outer body naturally regulate and tend itself. I know summer is a struggle bus for you so I haven't reached out...but I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!

Thank you, Lea! A timely word for me. I appreciate your wisdom. Every time I start to sense fear creeping in, I turn to the One that is fearless! I never thought about the line between fear and wisdom before. Next steps done with my eyes on Christ, make each step easier. Not because it is easy but because I can trust God who is leading me. Several years ago I did panic because of what was being said in the news. What they predicted has not come to pass. God used that to show me that it is His timing that I need to rest in. I began a garden, nothing crazy and this fall I am working…
